Nine Purdue University seniors in the school’s Industrial Engineering Department have completed their work this semester in the IN3 sponsored capstone projects. Recently, the two teams of students presented their work and posters to representatives from IN3, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) and Purdue faculty. Both of the teams have been engaged in designing and developing processes and techniques to support NSWC Crane and their supply chain illumination tool.
The U.S. Department of Defense, through NSWC Crane, is developing a part-centric supply chain illumination tool that walks a component through its lifecycle and identifies risks during its various stages. The tool is intended to provide an automated way of getting insight into the supply chain (and associated risk) of commercial microelectronics.
