IN3 Announces Collaboration with Medallion Partners in Search for New CEO

Apr 28, 2022

Bloomington, Ind. (April 28, 2022) – IN3 (Indiana Innovation Institute) has commenced an expansive search for a new President and CEO to replace its current leader, Stephen E. Kelly, who is retiring on July 31, 2022, from the role he has held since 2019.

“Finding an individual to replace someone of Steve’s caliber and intellect is somewhat like trying to find a unicorn, but I – along with the rest of our Board of Directors – am confident that our collaboration with Medallion Partners will find exactly the right person to lead IN3 into the next phase of its remarkable journey,” said IN3 Board Chairman Gen. Gene Renuart (USAF, Ret.).

Support to Indiana businesses, partnerships with its universities, support to U.S. Department of Defense organizations like Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane and others, and growth for the Indiana Uplands region will continue to define the CEO’s job description.

IN3 works with academia, industry, and government to create a hub of national security innovation that helps solve critical national defense priorities. Notably, the organization works closely with NSWC Crane, and Indiana and Purdue Universities, as well as business large and small, in important technical areas such as artificial intelligence, secure microelectronics, hypersonics and additive manufacturing.

The IN3 board and Medallion are committed to an in-depth and transparent process that captures the organization’s current priorities. The search process will begin immediately, with Medallion presenting a slate of candidates to the search committee, which will select the top candidates for final interviews and recommendation to the full board.
